Colouring Book Commission
Amanda Swan Neal of Mahina Expeditions commissioned me to create a series of illustrations for her upcoming instruction book about marine diesel engines, 'Marine Diesel Engines- a Learning and Colouring Book'. We decided on a quirky series of colouring pages that would clarify how engines worked, breaking down each system in a way that would be easy to understand for anyone not familiar with or interested in engines. Prior to this project that group would have included me! I researched each system before breaking it down in a way that would be clear and comprehensible, then worked with Amanda and engine guru Nigel Caulder to fine tune each system. Then came the really fun part- imagining the creatures which would be powered by the engines! The book will be launched at a series of boat shows in Winter 2018/ 2019. For more information you can contact Amanda Swan Neal at www.mahina.com/, or use my contact page if you have an illustration idea you would like to commission!
Sea Monsters
In February and March 2018 I created a series of thirty sea monster illustrations. The original concept came when my husband thought he saw a pink eye in the water when on night watch. This personal project was a great opportunity to develop my pen and ink skills, and to create a 'Spotter's Guide to Sea Monsters'.
Dinosaurs!
Because sometimes girls like dinosaurs, and sometimes boys like dancing. And sometimes it's fun not to grow up.
