Art at the Delta Ocean Pointe

After a quiet couple of years, it’s wonderful to have opportunities to share my paintings in the wild! I’m fortunate to have a selection of paintings on display at the Delta Ocean Pointe in Victoria for the month of April 2022.

Once Upon a Dream 24” x 20” wood-mounted watercolour

Some of the art on display is brand new, including two of my favourite pieces, ‘A Kind of Magic’ and ‘Once Upon a Dream’. The paintings were inspired by the kelp forests of the West Coast, and challenged me to develop the way I layer glazes of watercolour to create a sense of peering beneath the water whilst whowing the movement of waves and seaweed. These may be the best paintings I’ve done so far…

The show also includes coastal paintings featuring some of Vancouver Island’s wonderful West Coast beaches, from Brady Beach near Bamfield to Tofino and San Josef Bay. Each piece of art was inspired by sketches and photos created during our circumnavigation of the island in Summer 2021.

Exploring the Sea Stacks 20” x 30” wood-mounted watercolour

I’m sharing a peek of a few of my favourite paintings here- but of course art is best viewed in real life! You can see the exhibition in the Lobby and Mezzanine of the Delta Ocean Pointe through to 29th April (I recommend combining a viewing with a coffee and a stroll along the Songhees Walkway)!

Morning Mists 11” x 14” watercolour in 16” x 20” frame

Rugged Point 20” x 24” wood-mounted watercolour

Paintings are available through Reception at the Delta Ocean Pointe and will go on to my website after the show. You can also email me if there’s a painting you’d like to know more about!

The happy artist!
